A separate plan will also be prepared for the construction of four new water pumping stations in Mumbai to ensure proper drainage of rainwater.

In order to ensure proper drainage of water in the city, it was decided to commission four large water pumping stations to handle 100 millimeters of rainwater per hour.Mumbai has also received permission from the National Drainage Management Authority for the relevant process. Every year, rainwater in Mumbai city causes various problems for the citizens. Also, due to sea tides and rainwater, often the proper transport and drainage of water does not take place outside the city, resulting in a flood-like situation. Therefore, it is important to consider all these things. On June 25, a meeting was held under the chairmanship of the Guardian Minister and under the guidance of various high-ranking officials of the Mumbai Municipal Corporation.
More water pumping stations to be set up in Mumbai to collect rainwater
The city had a drainage system on July 26, 2005, which was 25 mm per hour. However, as per the various arrangements made thereafter and as per the Chitale Committee report, this was increased to 55 m.But due to the current rainfall in the city, there is a need for a water pumping station that can handle a discharge of 100 mm. Currently, there are nine small water pumping stations in the city.In addition to this, a small water parking station will be set up in MH Nagar and Dharavi T-junction in the city, and two large water pumping stations will be set up in Mogra and Mahal areas. Therefore, it will definitely help in reducing water leakage in the relevant area, i.e. Andheri and its surrounding areas.

The Mumbai Municipal Corporation is currently conducting various studies with the help of IIT Mumbai to ensure proper distribution of rainwater outside the city and proper drainage of water. The Municipal Corporation is currently conducting a study through IIT Bombay on how to transport this water out of the city even after rainfall of up to 100 mm per hour. They will get the addition of four new water pumping stations to the existing 9 water pumping stations in the city.
When a flood occurs in a city, the first attempt by the government to reduce the accumulated water is often to set up various water pumping stations in the city for this purpose. However, due to the tides and the resulting unseasonal rains and high rainfall rates, there is often more water than is normally available in the city. Therefore, various mechanisms are being implemented by the Municipal Corporation to reduce this water to the appropriate extent and transport it out of the city.Special efforts are being made through the Municipal Corporation to formulate a policy for the distribution of these four water pumping stations to be built, as well as the report of the Action Committee.
