In this action taken by the Kurar police, two accused have been remanded in police custody by the court. The names of these two accused are Nisar Ahmed and Tahir Ansari. They are currently in the custody of the Kurar police. These two accused used to operate rickshaws during the day and steal them at night. They had stolen several rickshaws in Mumbai city and sold the parts of these stolen rickshaws.

How did this whole matter come to light?

A rickshaw driver and his rickshaw were parked on the side of the road in Kurar village. After parking the rickshaw at night, the rickshaw driver went to a house, but when he came to pick up his rickshaw in the morning, his rickshaw was not there either.Seeing that his rickshaw had disappeared, he filed a complaint of theft of his rickshaw at the Kurar police station. Taking cognizance of the matter, the police started searching for the thief.

The police checked CCTV footage from the area where the rickshaw was parked and also investigated to see if any other clues could be found.During the investigation, CCTV footage showed Nisar Ahmed stealing a rickshaw and the police arrested the accused. He used to sell the parts of the stolen rickshaws to his friend, a mechanic named Bhaer Ansari. And they would sell the spare parts of these stolen rickshaws elsewhere at a cheap price and use these parts in other rickshaws. In this operation conducted by the police, seven rickshaws were seized by the police this time.

The entire case was investigated by the teams of Nandkishore Kshirsagar and Sanjay Gholve under the guidance of Senior Inspector Sanjeev Tawde of Kurar Police and the two accused in this case were arrested.A case has also been filed against them in court and two days of police custody has also been announced for both of them. The police are trying to figure out how many more people are involved in this case, including these two accused.

Kurar police solved the entire case through CCTV footage from the area. The accused, Nisar Ahmed, was seen in the CCTV while committing the theft. After that, the police laid a suitable trap and arrested him. During interrogation, he said that these people used to disassemble the parts of these stolen rickshaws, sell these disassembled parts in other parts of the city and also use these parts or rickshaw parts in new rickshaws. As a result, their investigation was not being carried out for the past several days. They had stolen several rickshaws in the city, but in this theft in Kurar, the complainant showed promptness and filed a complaint. As the police solved the case at the right time, the thieves’ plan was foiled and their theft was exposed.

Criminal charges have been filed against the two accused arrested in all these cases and they will be produced before the court again after two days of police custody. This time, the police officials said that they will take appropriate action against them. In the past few days, the Varnai police have arrested a gang that was stealing heavy vehicles, i.e. trucks. This gang also used to steal similar vehicles and sell the parts of those vehicles, and the two accused did the same with rickshaws. The police have taken strict action to prevent any theft like this incident from happening in the future.
