Various efforts are being made to make the transportation system in the city convenient for the people. Measures are also being taken to properly control the crowd and prevent crowding in the city.As a solution to the current problems in the city, emphasis is being placed on starting a single transport service for all municipalities in mahamumbai. Therefore, efforts will also be made to increase bus services in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.This will also reduce the additional burden on local trains and various efforts are being made to ensure proper distribution of the crowd and make the journey of citizens comfortable.

Thousands of people travel from various areas in Mumbai like Virar, Ulhasnagar, Panvel every morning during office hours.Therefore, to make the transportation of these people easier and more comfortable, all the municipal corporations in mahamumbai are focusing on starting a single transport service.As per the notification issued by the government on June 10, arrangements have been made to prepare an integrated bus transport plan, mainly by appointing the BEST Bus General Manager as its chairman.

The head of communication and transport of MMRDA i.e. Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority has been appointed as the member secretary of the working group.Also, the Additional Commissioner of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation, Additional Metropolitan Commissioner of MMRDA, Commissioner of Thane Municipal Corporation and Commissioners of Kalyan Dombivali, Vasai Virar, Bhiwandi Nizampur, Ulhasnagar Mira-Bhayander Municipal Corporation have been appointed as members of the working group.This integrated transport will help in properly planning and distributing the passenger traffic in mahamumbai as a whole, thereby preventing the large-scale congestion of passengers in the pick-up areas.

Various measures are currently being implemented to ensure that Mumbai’s transportation system is not dependent on any single mode of transport and that citizens have access to various options for travel.Citizens are being urged from various quarters to use the BEST buses of the Brihanmumbai Electricity Supply and Transport Corporation as well as other transport options. Like local trains, BEST buses are an integral part of mahamumbai transport system.Therefore, alternative routes such as these should often be used to reduce the additional congestion.

The Chief Minister said that the government is trying to find out how the incident near Mumbra railway station could have been prevented and various measures are being taken in this regard.There are also some objections to the installation of automatic doors in trains for everyone, but the state Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis also said that ventilation arrangements will be taken into account while installing these doors.The Chief Minister also said that facilities have been provided for changing the office hours of government offices to avoid large crowds.

The Chief Minister also said that some decisions will be taken after discussing with private establishments regarding office hours.In the wake of the Mumbra accident, the Chief Minister also discussed with Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav and also made suggestions on how various measures can be effectively implemented to ensure that such incidents do not happen in future.Fadnavis also said that the government is also making efforts to provide AC local trains at the doorsteps of the citizens to make their journey more comfortable.The state government is currently planning various plans on a large scale for the proper and efficient control of traffic in Mumbai.
