The number of vehicles at both Kalanagar Junction and BKC is often large, so due to the number of vehicles, the problem of traffic congestion is constantly felt in this area, and even during rush hour, the traffic is very heavy. To solve this traffic congestion problem, it was decided to build a bridge at Kalanagar Junction. In this, work was mainly to be done on 3 bridges. It was planned to build a bridge between Bandra Worli Sea Bridge and BKC with a length of 8040 meters, a bridge from BKC to Bandra Worli Sea Bridge with a length of 653 meters, and a bridge from Dharavi Junction to Bandra Worli Sea Bridge with a length of 3400 meters. The first two bridges have been completed and opened for traffic, but the third bridge has not yet been opened for traffic.

All three bridges will definitely help in smoothening the traffic system in the city and reducing the additional problem of traffic congestion.

On Wednesday, Shiv Sena MLA from Worli East constituency Varun Sardesai became aggressive in this regard. He removed the barricades on the road and opened the bridge for traffic. For some time, vehicles also started plying on the bridge. But within a short time, this bridge was closed by MMRDA, and during the inspection conducted at this time, Varun Sardesai took the MRDA officials to task.

Speaking on this occasion, he said that the work on the bridge has been stalled due to the inability to get time from ministers. He also accused the government of delaying the work.Officials said that some minor work is still pending on the bridge from Dharavi Junction to Bandra Worli Sea Bridge in Kalanagar Junction. Officials also said that some work is still pending on the street lights.Officials also said that the bridge would be opened for traffic once this work was completed.

Citizens of Kalanagar will have to wait for some time to use the bridge.

Various large-scale transportation works are currently underway in the city. The work of constructing bridges at various places as well as concreting of roads is also in full swing.

Most of the work on the third bridge from Dharavi Junction to Bandra-Worli Sea Bridge is currently complete, so Varun Sardesai has demanded that this bridge also be opened for traffic as soon as possible. In fact, the number of passengers traveling in the area from Kalanagar Junction to Bandra Kurla is large every day, so in such a situation, a large amount of traffic often occurs during rush hour, which is a problem in this area. The first two of these bridges were arranged, namely the first bridge between Bandra Worli Sea Bridge and BKC and the second bridge between BKC and Bandra Worli Sea Bridge. The work on both these bridges has been completed and they are currently in service, but due to the delay in the work on the third bridge, traffic problems are being felt here to a large extent. Therefore, the local MLA and residents have demanded that this bridge be immediately dedicated and opened for public transport.Varun Sardesai also said that the remaining minor works on the bridge at Kalanagar Junction should be completed as soon as possible and the bridge should be put into service for transporters.
