The much-awaited Sindoor Bridge has been opened for traffic. On Thursday, July 10, the bridge was inaugurated by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and opened to the public for traffic.

The problem with the Sindoor Bridge pedestrian bridge remains the same.
This bridge, known as Carnac, was renamed as Sindoor Bridge. This bridge is located some distance from Masjid Bandar Railway Station. But since this bridge does not have a pedestrian walkway, people walking along the road are currently facing problems. The structure of the pedestrian walkway along this bridge is actually complicated. This pedestrian walkway is not continuous. This often involves going down stairs, so this road or pedestrian path is not continuous, and citizens will have to walk on a slip road to use this pedestrian bridge.
This pedestrian road near Sindoor Bridge is only available up to the eastern access road. There is no such road on the western route, so citizens have access to the footpath only on the eastern side.In fact, the municipal corporation has built various bridges in the city of Mumbai, and this Sindoor Bridge is one of them. Its entire construction was done by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation.
During the traffic on this bridge, pedestrians walking from the east along P. Demola Road will have to get off after crossing the railway track. After getting off, they will have to take the path provided on the side of the bridge to the intersection. Therefore, to use this road, citizens will have to cross the railway tracks and also have to descend the stairs. Therefore, this road is not continuous and is only a pedestrian road halfway. Also, there is no pedestrian crossing available in the west direction because this part of the bridge descends directly into the square. Therefore, it is not appropriate from the point of view of citizen safety to have pedestrian crossings in an area where there is often a large amount of traffic at the square.
Be it any road or bridge, pedestrians definitely need a footpath, so in the case of this bridge too, citizens are currently experiencing problems due to the large number of vehicles plying on the road. Therefore, in such a situation, these pedestrians are definitely needed to walk on the side of the road or bridge.Meanwhile, in the case of the Sindoor Bridge, the pedestrian path is not continuous but somewhat convoluted, so citizens will often have difficulty using this road. Also, the slip road provided for this bridge and the stairs used for ascending and descending will take two to three months to complete, as some parts of the work are still pending.
To solve the problem of pedestrian road on Sindoor Bridge, the citizens have also been provided with the option of a slip road.Meanwhile, since the land on the eastern side of this bridge near CST station belongs to the railway, there is currently no slip road arrangement available at that location. However, there is a slip road arrangement available on both sides in the western direction, but citizens will have to climb stairs for this.
The Sindoor Bridge has been a controversial bridge since its inception. In fact, citizens had to wait for some time to use this bridge for transportation. Also, after it was opened for traffic, the problem of the pedestrian road of this bridge has also arisen. The slip road, which the citizens want to use in the meantime, is also pending work. Also, some work is still pending on the stairs that are to be used for the ascent. The current municipal administration aims to complete this work in the next two months.
